Algebra projects for 12 and 13 year olds

Tempering Temperature requires students to investigate whether a temperature exists which has the same numerical value in both the Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scales (it does). Students are encouraged to problem solve using a method of their own choosing to complete the project , using graphical, guess check and improve or algebraic methods. research activities include finding meanings for cartesian and polar graphs and the type of graph that forms the ABC logo.
